Hello,
I have been using Backtrack since BT3 came out and am no stranger to it.
The thing is I have only ever used it on my laptops and my 'portable PC' (Acer Aspire Revo) and I have never had any problems with it. I recently bought an ALFA-AWUS036NH adapter for my main PC so I could use Backtrack with it.
My problem is that BT5 simply will not boot, I just get stuck at the BT5 splash screen. I have tried booting from USB and DVD with KDE and GNOME 32 and 64bit but to no avail. My PC will boot off the USB and it will display the boot options for BT (I've tried selecting all options too), BT will then start to boot showing all the verbose text but it will suddenly go to the BT5 splash screen and that's as far as it goes! Does anyone have any suggestions? Perhaps there is an incompatibility with my Hardware?
Specs:
CPU: Intel E6600
GPU: Nvidia 8800GT
Sound: Creative X-Fi PCI Express
Mobo: ASUS P5B VM-SE
RAM: OCZ Special Ops PC2-6400 (4GB)
Just to make sure it wasn't some sort of peripheral Hardware causing the problem, I unplugged EVERYTHING except what is needed to function (DVD, extra USB hubs, HDDs etc.) and I still have the problem.
Any guidance is greatly apprectiated.
Thank You.
