  Fake AP & Handshakes

  I have tried using a laptop to get handshakes and the signal is around -80 and it said handshake was grabbed but then i load it in cowpatty and it said its not complete handshake so i was wondering am i not close enough? what signal do i need for it to deauth and grab the handshake (wpa2/wpa)
  
  Also do i need 2 cards for Fake AP + Sniffing with airssl or other sniffing methods because its not working for me (the fake ap i can make but not the sniffing)
