Mandriva Linux Security Advisory 2011-159 - The kdb_ldap plugin in the Key Distribution Center in MIT Kerberos 5 1.9 through 1.9.1, when the LDAP back end is used, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service via a kinit operation with incorrect string case for the realm, related to the is_principal_in_realm, krb5_set_error_message, krb5_ldap_get_principal, and process_as_req functions. The krb5_ldap_lockout_audit function in the Key Distribution Center 1.8 through 1.8.4 and 1.9 through 1.9.1, when the LDAP back end is used, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service via unspecified vectors, related to the locked_check_p function. The lookup_lockout_policy function in the Key Distribution Center in MIT Kerberos 5 1.8 through 1.8.4 and 1.9 through 1.9.1, when the db2 or LDAP back end is used, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference and daemon crash) via vectors that trigger certain process_as_req errors. The updated packages have been patched to correct these issues.

Sophos product advisories
Under certain specific circumstances, it is possible to accidentally overwrite the key value of an existing LAN Crypt key when you are making changes to the key. This will mean that the key will no longer be able to decrypt files. We have released a patch which you should install in order to avoid the possibility of this occurring

Hack a Day
Add a bit of interest to your radio equipment with one of these unorthodox CW keys. [OH6DC] has been hard at work posting almost sixty of these hacks. Above you can see an alarm clock whose snooze button acts as the key, and a nail clipper used as a key. There’s a banana , a [...]

Packet Storm Security Advisories
Secunia Research has discovered a security issue in Bournal, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to disclose sensitive information. The script uses e.g. the insecure -K command line parameter to pass the key to the ccrypt utilities, which can be exploited to obtain the key from the list of running processes. Note: This may not affect recent Linux versions, but is confirmed for FreeBSD 8.0. Other systems may also be affected. Version 1.4 is affected.

remote-exploit & backtrack
Hey guys, did a search but am looking for a more specific answer.
Right, im doing a little pentest on my AP which uses WPA-PSK.
I used my netbook to run BT4 then I successfully de-auth my targeted workstation (my desktop using wifi) and captured the 4-way handshake into a capture file.
I then used the default aircrack word list (password.lst) to try and crack the handshake.
I then get KEY FOUND [ penelope]
I assume this means all it good and its been cracked, However I know this is not the password as its set to "Chronicles2"
Yet doing another capture file from my same bssid and aircrack still tells me this is the key.
why does aircrack tell me this is the key?
thanks.
I do have permission to crack the WPA passcode as I own the network, pay the bill and set up the AP. Just incase anyone asks =]
