Packet Storm Security Advisories
Technical Cyber Security Alert 2012-24A - US-CERT has received information from multiple sources about coordinated distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks with targets that included U.S. government agency and entertainment industry websites. The loosely affiliated collective "Anonymous" allegedly promoted the attacks in response to the shutdown of the file hosting site MegaUpload and in protest of proposed U.S. legislation concerning online trafficking in copyrighted intellectual property and counterfeit goods (Stop Online Piracy Act, or SOPA, and Preventing Real Online Threats to Economic Creativity and Theft of Intellectual Property Act, or PIPA).

Packet Storm Security Exploits
Online Grades version 3.2.5 suffers from multiple cross site scripting vulnerabilities. The issue is triggered when input passed via multiple parameters to the 'admin/admin.php' script is not properly sanitized before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

Hack a Day
This is [Pete Dokter], the fourth employee that Sparkfun ever had and currently Director of Engineering there. As you can see, they’re not letting [Peter] come out of his hole. Instead of designing new breakout boards they’ve given him a camera that he’ll be using to record his occasional pontifications. ‘According to Pete’ will become a regularly [...]

Hack a Day
[Jair2K4] is using his unique RFID tag address as an online password. We’d bet that if you went far enough to get an implant in your hand you’d continually search for a reason to use it. Wanting to do more than just start his car with a wave of the hand, he built an interface [...]

Irongeek.com is hosting an online class on password exploitation. The event was a fundraiser called ShoeCon, but they are hosting the entire series for everyone to share. Not only are the videos there, but you can download the powerpoint slides as well. There is a massive amount of information here on various topics like Hashcat, [...]

PartKAM is a Flash-based CAM production package created by [Jack Qiao]. There are a ton of computer aided manufacturing suites out there, this one is simple and requires nothing more than having your browser open. We played with it for a few moments and found it useful but still a bit buggy. Most notably, it lacks a ‘undo’ [...]

137 years of the magazine Popular Science are now being hosted online by Google. You can peruse at your leisure, though you’ll have to search by keyword. We don’t see a date or issue browsing option. The cover art alone is worth your time, even if you’re not a fan of the articles. Many of us have fond [...]

botnet DDoS DoS Event:
Chaos Communication Congress 26th (26C3) 2009 Abstract: Many years of hosting BBS's, ISP's, websites, game servers, forums, irc networks, and online communities. I've accrued experience dealing with the negative influences of DoS/DDoS, botnets, trolls, flooders, spammers, phishers, and the whole lot. I want to talk about the challenges, and victories. Using whatever tools necessary to achieve the goal, basically keeping services up for the users while maintaining security, secrecy/privacy, and balance. Tracking & Attacking/Reporting Botnets, Social Engineering, Dealing with Trolls, Flooders and other negative influences.
