Hack a Day
The pressurized air from a standard air compressor is fine for most uses. But some applications like plasma cutting call for low-humidity air and the hardware available to facilitate this can cost a bundle. [Roland] and his cohorts at TX/RX Labs (a Houston, Texas Hackerspace) just built this air drying system. It works using a desiccant; [...]

[John Zitterkopf] is in the middle of restoring a vintage Sega Star Trek Captain’s Chair arcade game for the upcoming 2012 Texas Pinball festival, though one prerequisite for the show is that the game supports some sort of free play mode. At this point he doesn’t have the option of tracking down a freeplay ROM [...]

Hack a Day
We never really get bored with remote-controlled rovers around here, especially when they involve reusing some old hardware as well as lasers. [Tycoon] wrote in to share his creation, which he has dubbed “Texas Ranger”. Texas Ranger is built around an old Linksys WRT54GL router, which provides the rover’s WiFi connectivity as well as the [...]

Hack a Day
If you need a sparring partner, and do not want to be dependent on finding a willing partner at any random time, then maybe this Interactive Punching Bag will be some interest to you. [Lior], having studied Karate for a while now, originally envisioned a robotic arm that would punch at you using the Texas [...]

Ubertooth Zero is the first offering in [Michael Ossman's] quest for a Bluetooth sniffing and hacking hardware platform. We’ve seen some of his hacks in the past, like the build-in guitar tuner and some pink pager fiddling. The Ubertooth dongle is his original design based around an LPC1758 ARM Cortex-M3 processor paired with a Texas [...]

remote-exploit & backtrack
I picked up a mobile broadband card today from a company called Clear (those of you in Texas, especially San Antonio, should know who I'm talking about) and I was wondering if there's any way to make it work in BT4, or Linux in general? It's supposed to work fine on XP, Vista, and OSX but Linux isn't supported. I read around online about making cards work even when they're not supported. Any help?

remote-exploit & backtrack
Hello,
I was wondering if you could possibly help me, ive been reading for hours each day about deiver, chipsets, wireless lan cards etc ive done a search on the forum but to no avail, here goes..
I have an
INPROCONN IPN2220 wireless lan card.
And a
Realtek rtl8139/810 family fast ethernet NIC.
and pcmia adapter is
Texas instruments PCI-1410 cardbus controller.
Inside a toshiba L10 pro satellite.
Ive downloaded vmware workstation 7, backtrack 4 vmware image and aircrack. what i want to know is does my wireless lan support packet injection and monitor mode in windows? If not, does vmware support my wireless lan so i can inject packets in linux?
Thanks in advance!:):)
