  Abstract: Like in the last year, examples of strange programming (art)work will be shown. In addition to the funny and sportive disciplines known from last year, some examples of painful production code will be presented. Wie letztes Jahr werden wieder beispielhaft grenzwertige Programmier- (kunst)werke beleuchtet. Neben den spassig-sportlichen "Disziplinen" werden diesmal auch schmerzhafte Beispiele von Produktivcode vorgestellt. The first part of the presentation will - similar to last years presentation - shed some light on the funny and sportive disciplines of the art of programming. Besides new examples in disciplines that were presented last year, like obfuscated programming and shortest code, core wars and demo coding are new in the agenda. In core wars, we have a bunch of programmes running in parallel in the same memory. (This is a typical Von-Neumann machine with multitasking, but without memory protection.) The goal is to create a program that survives as long as possible, but at the same time quickly erases the other programs from memory. Demo coders try to exploit a given, limited (and often legacy) hardware through the use of crafty software, and thus create unexpected effects and surprising results. On so-called demo partys, those programs are presented, and sometimes even some high valued prices are put up. The winners are e. G. 3D first person shooters in 64k and video clips with sound in 4k. In the second part of the lessons, some creatively designed programming languages will be introduced. Especially, the two projects "Argh!" and "repsub" will be presented. Both of them evolved in the orbit of the CCC. Argh! and its derivative Aargh! are somehow similar to BeFunge in that they are two dimensional virtual machines. Argh! and Aargh! were both adjusted to fit the special needs of customary unix text mode terminals. Repsub has the high ideal to be a democratic programming environment. All memory cells enjoy equal rights, and can be processed highly parallel. It is mathematically proved that this pattern-matching and replacement based programming language is touring complete. Finally, the third part will introduce some extra painful examples of production code. A fertile source for those are some commercially developed projects that were open-sourced afterwards. From time to time, those create the impression that the developers lost control of their own code. They now hope the community will help them to find the way out of their maintainance nightmare. The CCC ErfA Group Ulm is planning to hold a shortest C coding contest on this Congress. We learned our lession from the last years contest, so the rules will be much simplified.   Abstract: Haskell is a purely functional programming language. Its main features include its strong type system, declarative style, concise syntax, and clean structure. Contrary to the frequently found notion of Haskell being a language of more "academic interest", it is in my opinion much rather the case that Haskell can excellently express applications of direct practical utility without sacrificing the language's academic assets at all. The Haskell programming language is a comparatively young purely functional member of the Miranda family. Its main features include its strong type system, declarative style, concise syntax, and clean structure. A to my knowledge unique trait of Haskell, at least among programming languages "in practical use", is the actual absence of nonfunctional side effects in the core language. That is, in Haskell the statement of referential transparency is /true/. As to the elegance of the of course nonetheless given provisions for expressing inherently imperative processes, I/O especially, let the following two quotes suffice: "How to declare an imperative" (Philip Wadler, [1]) and "Haskell is the world's finest imperative programming language" (Simon P.J. in [2]). Contrary to the frequently found notion of Haskell being a language of more "academic interest", it is in my opinion much rather the case that Haskell can excellently express applications of direct practical utility without sacrificing the language's academic assets at all. The 45-minute talk will briefly sketch the basic concepts of the language and then open into a (as I hope) exciting tour of some programming highlights, in order to provide a loose outlook into Haskell and transfer some of my excitement about this language to interested hackers.

  Abstract: We present libd, a high-level runtime for the D programming language and the Slate project, an attempt at a high-level OS and environment built upon libd, as the next major step in improving the state of programming environments and operating systems. With high-level abstractions, and sensible design, the state of implementation of open-source OSes can improve. We leverage existing kernels when implementing Slate, and put an extensive (abstraction-oriented) architecture above the kernel to present the user (or programmer) with a system they can use by having to do less to perform a specific function. Our virtual machine approach also allows for security verification on a level not seen in *nix OSes before. libd is a high-level runtime library for the D programming language. It is completely independent from existing C code except the *nix kernels it runs on, and of any compatibility issues with legacy code. This enables libd to establish support for various programming models (such as event-driven programming, traditional semi-OO procedural programming), message-passing, object persistence, task load balancing etc. The library has a very pluggable interface, and is therefore customizable. On the basis of libd, we present the design of the Slate project, an advanced OS and environment.   It seems that, it uses this command into the script, ;
  Code: airodump-ng -w test wlan0 and then, possibly, the *.cvs file were read out in list form so that user can choose by pressing 1,2,3, on the next screen. I cant really get the code used to get this kind of screen shot (2nd image). All bash scripting I found in this forum appears that user have to insert the BSSID, ESSID, so on manually. I found this one is automated but the source is encrypted. It would be good enough if someone here able to share some scripting skills according to the pictures shown.

  Linksys WRT54GL Add Proxy Function?

  Hey!
  
  Since Linksys WRT54GL Routers are Linux based and SSH / Telnet AND Remote Connection to the device is possible, I asked myself if it wouldn't be possible to add some proxy function to this device, so that it proceeds every request from outside.
  
  So the main idea is to write a script that proceeds every request, copy it to the router, make it executable and execute it once so that it is present until the router is restarted (or better copy it into the routers autostart?)
  
  Unfortunately, I have no idea to start, but I would be pleased about every input you have :)
